Why evidenced-based therapy?

Trained as a scientist-practitioner, I believe in the power of research and aim to incorporate only the best practices into my work. I offer a variety of evidence-based treatments (EBT) to address PTSD and related disorders but this is not the only way I practice. It is very common for my patients to successfully complete an evidence-based treatment and request to continue therapy to address other problem areas, including other traumatic events, relationship problems, phase of life problems, and many others.

How long until I feel better?

Most evidence-based treatments have shown significant reductions in symptoms of PTSD and related disorders in 12-18 sessions; that’s only 3-6 months! Some people choose to schedule more than 1 session per week, which can accelerate treatment, even more, getting you back to life sooner than you could have ever imagined.

How do I know which EBT is best?

Following our initial evaluation, we will collaboratively discuss your treatment options to determine which treatment will be best for you. Both CPT and PE have been found effective for many different populations, and once you start treatment with me I want to empower you to pick the treatment that will best match your needs and worldview.

I’m a healthcare worker – how will I know you’ll understand me?

I have worked in integrated care and hospital settings for the last 5 years. Through this work, I have worked alongside nurses, physicians, therapists, and other healthcare workers and personally witnessed their courage and their need to compartmentalize in order to do their jobs. I have been asked to address vicarious trauma both formally and informally with healthcare workers and found it to be very rewarding and has become a passion of mine.

Why online therapy?

I have chosen to provide online therapy after years of seeing my patients encounter constant barriers to treatment. Many people do not have consistent transportation (or don’t have the time to fight traffic!). Survivors of traumatic injury may be confined to their home or rehab and cannot attend in-person visits. Busy healthcare workers and other professionals often do not have the time necessary to travel to and from 50 minute appointments. In order to reach as many people as I can, I decided to offer services online in a safe and convenient way.

Is online therapy effective?

Yes! Not only is online therapy effective in general, there is research to show it is equally effective to treat PTSD and related disorders!

Do I have to have a computer to attend session?

Nope! Our HIPAA compliant online platform works on computers/laptops, mobile phones, and tablets.

How much are your fees?

Initial evaluation is now $250 (originally $225) and Follow-Up Appointments to $225 (originally $200)

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance but actively work with my clients to help them submit and claim out of network reimbursement from their insurance providers.
