The Crisis Response Plan (CRP) was developed as a brief intervention to collaboratively address suicidal ideation and behaviors, which are very common after experiencing a traumatic event. The CRP is written on an index card for the patient to keep with them and reference in times of need, serving as a checklist of safe and adaptive behaviors to use instead of engaging in self-harm or suicide. CRP has been found to help clients overcome intense feelings of distress when feeling utterly hopeless and helpless.
